# Change an archive's password

## Change an archive's password using the control panel

In the archive's overview under **Actions → Change Password**, you can update the archive's password.

Fill in *New Password* and *Confirm New Password*, then click **Change Password**.

## Change an archive's password using the API

To change an archive's password using the [API](/platform/control-panel/api.md), use the [archive/changepassword](https://github.com/GleSYS/API-docs/wiki/API-Documentation#archivechangepassword) endpoint to change the password of an archive.
